Sister by Sibling

August 7th, 2012

Sister by Sibling is the result of an ongoing collaboration between London-based designers Joe Bates, Sid Bryan and Cozette McCreery. The original Sibling label was launched in May 2008, born out of the desire to give knitwear for men a good old-fashioned shake-up with cartoon kapows and hams of very English humour. Out of this playful subversion of conventional knitwear came Sister by Sibling, which brings the same spirit and integrity of design to women. Think soft leopard prints, lurex pleats and mouth-watering bubblegum pinks.

While the references are more than a touch punk, the silhouette remains resolutely ‘lady’. Think leopard print twin sets, or a matching crew, cardi and skirt in vibrant orange Scottish Fair Isle leopard. Mohair and angoras are coloured YSL blue and vivid kissing-the-pink. An iconic backless dress is borrowed from ‘Paris, Texas’, while an ‘Advanced Style’-style pleated skirt is shot through with blue lurex.
