15 Years of Poepke
October 12th, 2015
In the coming months, we’ll be celebrating our 15th year at Poepke. As part of this, Poepke are collaborating with artist Rafaela Pandolfini on a series of photographs and a video work. Featuring both new season and archival pieces, these images encapsulate Poepke’s past and present, as well as looking towards our future.
Sydney-based artist Pandolfini works predominantly with photography and video, and is interested in the idea of expressing emotion as form via performance involving movement, costume and sound. She holds a Masters by Research from the UNSW College of Fine Arts (COFA) and, most recently, she held a solo exhibition entitled Ugly Angry at Wellington St Projects. So also curated a show called A New Feminine? at Airspace Projects and presented a screening of Chris Kraus’ Gravity and Grace at the Golden Age Cinema. Rafaela is a regular contributor to Assemble Papers and has had her work published online with Two Thousands, Oyster, Pagesdigital and Frankie.
Poepke will be working with the William Street Festival as part of these celebrations. For the festival, this Saturday 17 October, we will present a chronicle of the past fifteen years through a video installation, various publications from press and designers, and curated collections of pieces from labels we carry at present, immersing visitors in the ethos of Poepke. We will be extending our hours also, from 10am until 8pm.
We invite you to celebrate with us 15 Years of Poepke.
